Plants Are Teachers, the Vancouver Island Fibreshed and The Spool Sewing Studio invite you to a nettle fibre processing circle followed by the screening of THE NETTLE DRESS, a poetic documentary directed by Dylan Howitt about textile artist Allan Brown and his 7-year journey making a nettle dress from the fibre of foraged stinging nettle.

At 2 p.m. artist Juliana Bedoya will share the foundations of nettle fibre processing from green and retted stalks. The screening will start at 2:45 p.m. and participants can continue processing nettles while watching the documentary.
